Wife of the Governor pledges to enroll 200 Orphans into Kebbi State Contributory Health Scheme.

The Wife of the Governor, Hajiya Zainab Nasare Nasir Idris (Kauran Gwandu) says she will enroll 200 Orphans and other vulnerable individuals into Kebbi State Contributory Health Scheme through the Kebbi State Contributory Healthcare Management Agency, (KECHEMA)
Hajiya Zainab made the pledge at a Thanksgiving ceremony by the enrolled vulnerable groups to her Excellency the Wife of the Governor in commemoration of the 2023 Universal Health Coverage(UHC) Day at the premises of the Kebbi State Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development.
The Wife of the Governor who described Health as Wealth assured the present administration's commitment towards improving the Health and welfare of all residents of the State.
Hajiya Zainab noted that the Administration of Dr. Nasir Idris will continue to come up with different programmes that will impact the lives of Orphans and other Less privileged individuals in the State.
The Wife of the Governor also pledged Two Hundred Thousand Naira monthly support to Almajiri Support Initiative of Nigeria to enhance their activities and Three Hundred Thousand Naira to One Orphan in Danko Wasagu who is intending to get married.
Hajiya Nasare, however appealed to Politicians, Philanthropists and Wealthy Individuals to continue to assist Less privileged persons.
Also Speaking, the Chairman House Committee on Healthcare Services, Hon. Abubakar Aminu Babangida Gulumbe says the Present Administration has made adequate provision for Healthcare Services in the 2024 Budget which was approved and Assented to by the Governor, Comrade Dr. Nasir Idris (Kauran Gwandu.)
Hon. Babangida also pledged to enroll 50 Orphans into the Health Scheme of KECHEMA and One Million Naira as Support to them.
In a remark, the Executive Secretary KECHEMA, Dr Jafar Augie Muhammad said the Event was organized by the Vulnerable groups who were lucky to be enrolled in to the Health Scheme to say Thankyou to the Government of Dr Nasir Idris through his Wife Hajiya Zainab Nasare, for the immense benefits they are getting from Kebbi Contributory Health Scheme and national Basic Healthcare Provision Fund (BHCPF) Programme which is being implemented by KECHEMA.
Dr Jafar noted that  presently the Scheme has over Ninety Six Thousand active enrollees,  which comprises Women (58%) Children under Five, Orphans, Destitute and Physically Challenged in the Health Scheme under KECHEMA.
The Executive Secretary revealed that over Twelve Thousand Women delivered at no cost under BHCPF and KECHES which resulted to increase in facility delivery rate from 8% to 32%.
Dr Jafar described the gathering as part of celebration to mark this year's 2023 UHC Day which was marked in Abuja on Twelfth of this Month by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
In their Separate Remarks, The State Coordinator of Kebbi State Sickle Cell Association (KESCA) Hajiya Hadiza Yahaya Shantali, Chairman of Almajiri Support Initiative of Nigeria, Comrade Shehu Umar and that of Orphans Association Bashar Jabbo all thanked the State Government for the immense benefit they are getting from KECHEMA while soliciting for more government support to the Agency.
Others who spoke at the occasion include, the Permanent Secretary, State Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development, Hajiya Aishatu Maikurata who reiterated the continuous collaboration of her Ministry with KECHEMA in ensuring that more orphans and physically challenged persons are enrolled and given access to free and qualitative healthcare services. The Director Standard Quality Assurance KECHEMA, Hajiya Ummu Adamu Yauri assured the public of improved healthcare service delivery under the Contributory Scheme.
Highlights of the Event was the presentation of rice and Ten thousand naira donation to each beneficiary courtesy of the Wife of the Governor, and a group photo with Her Excellency Hajia Zainab Nasir Kauran Gwandu together with the participants.
